ORAL SURGERY

Sometimes dental problems will require oral surgery to correct. To better provide for our patients, Dental Care Orthodontics houses six dental specialties, including oral surgery, which allows us to handle all your dental needs in our office.

Impacted Wisdom Teeth

While we strive to help our patients maintain the best level of oral health, some times things happen that are beyond our control, such as impacted wisdom teeth. These third molars are the last to appear and often do not have enough room to properly do so. Removal of the wisdom teeth through oral surgery may become necessary as they damage the surrounding teeth, allow particles to become trapped within the gums, and cause pain with use.

Most often oral surgery can be completed with the use of local anesthesia. However, our patients comfort is paramount to our practice and we offer several options to meet the needs of our patients. Additional anesthesia options include the use of laughing gas (nitrous oxide) and general anesthesia.
